angry for beeing left alone?

Hi,

Whenever i leave rocky alone at home he starts reaping apart everything he finds, like: books, electricity wires (i do turn them off before i go out...), plants and even the TV remote control, last time because he didn't find anything he removed some of the paint from the wall in the room.

I do feed him before going out, leave him a full water bowl, take him out before, close him in one room (so he doesn't tear apart all the house) with plenty of air and leave him toys to play with (but he doesn't..) including bones he can chew for long time.

My question is how do i deal with this (make him stop doing this!)?

ps: Rocky is 6 months old

Sounds like you need a crate - for his safety, at least. Another rule of thumb is to make sure he's extra tired when you leave. A tired boxer is a good boxer. ;)

How old is your baby? Tyson did really well until he was about 4 months old. Then all heck broke out. He got into my magazines, garbage a couple times. It all ended when I came home to a plant all over the floor. It was a big potted plant to boot. I cleaned the mess and headed straight to WalMart and got a crate. He has just within the last couple months been allowed full roam of the house. For the most part he does good. I agree, a tired boxer is a happy boxer. Can you walk him before you leave for work, or play awhile with him? You'll be glad you did :)

he is 6 months old,

So you sugest carting him? if yes how do i do it?
I searched the site but no one explained exactly how to do it.

Please explain how do i carte him

At six months old unless you have a really unusual dog I would almost guarantee that he will chew something up. It's just growing up with way too much energy and time on his paws. Some are more destructive than others. I don't know how easy it would be to crate train him now, but it is worth it. SuzyQ was the first we ever crated and she was well over a year, maybe even 1 1/2 yrs before she was allowed free run of the house when we were at work during the day. It just takes time and patience. SuzyQ was also very fond of remote controls, in fact we still don't leave them where she can find them just in case she has some naughtiness buried inside her. Yeah I agree, definitely try a crate boogi, it would take a lot of the stress out of dog-parenting for you and would let you get on with the business of actually enjoying your dog! And it would be a whole lot safer for Rocky too, by the sounds. I'd try and crate in maybe the room he occupies now when you're not home? It may be more familiar to him. Mind you, I do wonder what room that is, as you say you lock him in there but it has appliances plugged in, books and plants in it? Do you lock him in your living room??

Leave the door of the crate open intially (while you're home) and put a blanket plus some toys and treats in there for Rocky to become intrigued with and hopefully he'll go in of his own accord. Maye try it out on a weekend while you're home so you can monitor his reactions and try short stints of closing him in there while you're still at home. Hopefully you'll get there with a slow and gentle approach, I'm sure you'll need a lot of patience with a dog that much older, but I'd be interested to hear how you get on.

Where does Rocky sleep at night, by the way?
