I have been told that there is a particular anthesia that Boxers do not tolerate well. Does anybody know the name or if there's any truth to it?

It is commonly known as ACE and should not be used on boxers. If you do a search, you will find loads of things about it.

It's a drug called "acepromazine." It's not the anesthesia itself, but a type of PRE-anesthetic agent that is supposed to help make the actual anesthesia easier on the dog. But in Boxers and certain other breeds, it can cause a fatal, or near-fatal drop in blood pressure. There are other drugs that can be substituted. Do a search on here for "Ace" or "Acepromazine" and you will find more detailed information.

Thank's Y'all

I read up on ACE and sent the link to a fellow Boxer friend that is about to have her "Brodie" fixed. Kinda scary to not know that kind of stuff. Glad y'all are here.
