I understand where you are coming from....Duchess turns one in a month and I am so sad about it. Obviously I should know that she isnt a puppy...she has sure changed alot from the little furball she was to a huge 53 lb ball of energy! We are already planning on having her cousins over for some doggy birthday cake!

the party was a success 
Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes! Chloe had a super day :D . We had family and friends over, had a big bbq, and cake (carrot cake - my absolute fave!) with goodies and coffee later. Chloe got some treats and few toys; and even the grumpy people made it to the party... Most importantly - she got lots of love and attention.
I put a candle in the cake - and was telling Chloe to blow it out; at which point everyone though I "lost it".
We also learned that Chloe hates balloons - and will go to all lengths to protect her family from them...
It's just too bad that the monkey couldn't help to clean up after everyone left...

When we were in the Dominican we noticed this family of 3 dogs... They lived (belonged to someone) on the beach near the resort. The "dad" - we named him Dingo, roamed the beach, but the mom was tied up ... I guess it was because tourists would take her babe away, and she would go after her - and them... They dogs were really skinny - it was heartbreaking... We used to take water from the resort to the mom and baby; in plastic cups - it was so sweet to watch: she would drink all her water right away while the baby would just lick at it a bit. The mom would then pick up the baby's cup and carry it- without spilling a drop - to a corner into the shade... Poor doggies :(
