Anal glands??

OOOOH man i can not believe I am gonna ask this... I have taken peanut once a month or 6 weeks to get her glands done for well since I have had her. I think I am gonna try it myself as the groomer messed up her nail last time. OMG was anybody really nervious? MY vet showed me how to but I am still kinda squirmy about it. What did you all do your first time? grin and bare it? Any tips? wow ok thanks...

nope never tried it.:eek: I just could not get the nerve up to stick my finger you know where.

Is this something they need done? Because I've never done it and I also couldn't put my finger into the "unknown."

ummm...I would advise against the grinning--keep your mouth/lips closed tightly! :eek: Have fun! (Really, its not so bad most times.....)

There's been all these threads about this! I've never had Dozer done or Diesel is it a routine thing that needs to be done? How do you know when it's time?

Only if they give any indication that they may be in discomfort (ie constant licking or scooting across the floor). If yours dogs are on raw, there is rarely, if ever, a problem ~ Cathy

Thanks! Mine never do any of that, i'll keep an eye out for it though. But i'll be taking mine in to have it done! I have a hard enough time cleaning the back yard let alone getting up close and personal with the "source"
