I play the cello professionally and i play the piano as well, but I've just now been able to get back into practicing since I'm pretty much settled from moving. This morning I was working out a passage on the piano that didn't go higher than an octive above middle C and Meli came running into the study barking. I stop playing to see what was the matter, but she soon calmed down. I continued playing again and she started barking. So I then put her up in the bench with me(she's still small enough at 5 months!), played a couple notes while looking at her face. She was studying the notes I was playing so hard that her wrinkles were as deep as the Grand Canyon! So I take her paw and pressed it down on a key. Boy that scared the crud out of her but she didn't jump down. So I tried it again, and she just did a simple woof to acknowledge that is what was making the noise! So I let her down and start playing a little scott joplin and she sat still untill I finished the entire maple leaf rag! She than got up to see if I was done, and then went on her merry ol' way to look for her piggy to play with. So over the day I've been playing here and there, and sure enough she comes running. I hope I'm not hurting her ears too much!
Of all the dogs I've had, I've never had one who was fascinated with the piano. A lot of them liked to sing with me, but none had the interest to see what was making the music other than my voice! Anyone else have a music lover, or do I just have flook child?!
