Boxer Booster
Heh. I have two boxers with different nubbies (Tahoe = 1.5-2"; Dixie = 4"). Both can clear a room (Dixie once cleared out the OTHER DOGS... want to talk about bad...), but Tahoe is by far consistently the worst in terms of toxicity and sound. Since we rescued Tahoe from a kill shelter and have NO IDEA of his background, we like to joke that he actually escaped from a secret government lab where he was being developed as a deadly biological weapon.
There are plenty of times that I can be sitting on the sofa and HEAR TAHOE FART every time he takes a step up the stairs 15 feet away!!!!!
Another time, he ran and jumped into the bed with me and landed with such force that he BURPED AND FARTED at the same time when his feet hit the bed!!!!!!! I almost died! I couldn't believe that any animal could land so hard as to blow out both ends!
I will tell you that both of my dogs gas levels go to almost zero when they are on the BARF diet. After making fresh meals for 3 years and my son finally getting old enough for me to have to make practices and supervise homework and what-not, we have taken a break from it, but it is far superior to everything else in terms of their health and certainly the gas problem. We currently feed Flint River Ranch (a holistic kibble) and they do pretty well with that. If I were to ever break down to Science Diet/Iams/Pedigree/Etc, I think even my neighbors would know!
I also agree with the other post... plain yogurt will help. But, if the gas gets too bad... go for BARF.
As for nubbie size and sound... Maybe they are onto something. If Tahoe's nubbie were longer I know there are times that it wouldn't allow his poots to reverberate across the tile floor. *shudder*
