Once again I have been amazed at how smart Rocky is. For the past year and a half Rocky and I have had a little morning routine. I get a cup of coffee and watch the morning news. During this time Rocky climbs into my lap (it only hurts to have 87 lbs in your lap for a few minutes then my legs go numb) and gets 10-15 minutes of adoration. I hug, pet, kiss him while whispering in his ear that he is in fact the smartest and most beautiful dog in the world and assure him that I will love him forever. About a week ago our puppy, Lucy decided to get her share of the love. She nudged her way in between me and Rocky (yes they were both on my lap). Rocky jumped down, went to the toy box, dug to the bottom and found Lucy's favorite squeeky hamburger toy. He brought it over, squeeked it to get her attention. We she jumped down to get the toy (she must always have what he has) he calmly climbed back into my lap and resumed lovin' time. The first day I did not think much of this but it happens everyday now. I can hardly believe that this "dog" has reasoned out a plan to prevent Lucy from honing in on his special time with me. I am sorry this is so long, but I had to brag about how smart my boy is and how sweet that he doesn't get mad at Lucy just figured a way for everyone to be happy.
