Alternating Kibble and Raw

I definitely want to reap some of the benefits of feeding raw...

Would it be okay to bring raw feeding in and out a couple times a week. Like continue to feed dry kibble but every 2nd or 3rd dinner give him 2 pounds of chicken or beef roast with some veggies?

I just don't think I will have the time to keep up with 2 raw feedings daily... Plus a lot of times when I work late I have other people looking after Rocky, feeding him etc.

Thanks

Yes, a regime like that would be fine :)

It is generally accepted that raw and kibble should not be mixed together in the same meal (destroys the dog's primary defence against bacteria). But there are plenty of people who feed one raw meal and one kibble meal daily. Or some days where the menu is only kibble, some only raw. Anyway, there's no reason why you can't feed only some meals raw (or homecooked, if it happens to suit you) and your dog will still get benefits from having some real food in his diet.

Thank you very much gmacleod!

Like I say, I do feel bad for feeding dry kibble as it is not what nature intended but it certainly makes me feel a lot better that BW has led me to a high quality kibble and now I will feel even better that I can increase Rocky's health by substitute raw meals when possible.

Thanks again!

Just to support gmacleod's answer... I feed Nature's Variety frozen raw in the morning with a small patty at lunch and then feed Innova kibble in the evening. Been doing this for all 3 dogs for a while now with no problems at all.
