Completely Boxer Crazy
I had the scare of my life this past Sunday when my ex came in the house and said Baron was attacking Cricket. When I ran to the door, that was not the case at all. Baron looked up at me with his big brown eyes and I immediately knew he was being strangled and her bottom jaw was caught in his collar!!!
He had blood coming out his nose, and was trying desperately to gasp for air but nothing. I ran down the stairs and started screaming for the ex to get his pocket knife out and start cutting his collar. It took only about 5 seconds, but that was the longets moment of my life. My heart was sinking with each stroke of his knife thinking I'm losing him right here in fromt of my eyes.

We got the collar off and thank God he was able to breathe again and stand up. It took a good hour before he had any sense about him. We made the trip to the emergency vet to have them both checked over. His eyes are horrible right now, all the capliiaries burst in the whites so they are full of blood, but no damage to the internal eye. Cricket has bite wounds to her muzzle from him trying to get loose.

I never let them outside without going with them but he let them out without telling me that day. They will never again wear collars as long as they are at home and in the yard. I urge everyone to make sure your babies are safe. what stats as a game could turn out very different.

I know all to well how frightened you were - the very same thing happened to us last year. Needless to say, all four of mine are now wearing break away safety collars. Thank you for making others aware of the potential hazards ~ Cathy
