Almost lost my baby on christmas eve!!!

This being Tyson and Ali's first christmas with us we were ALL excited. On christmas eve we took the kids to my dad's where they enjoyed prime rib home made dog cookies from nanna and opening their first presents!!!

It was getting late in the evening when I noticed Ali was playing with my 6 yr old brother but Tyson was not around! This being unlike him I went to see if he was begging for treats or in the back pottying, . . . no where to be found!

I began searching for him and to my dismay couldn't find him any where! In a matter of moments we were all looking for him. . . Tyson was lost! We all got in cars and began searching the neighborhood, an uncle said he had seen him but that Tyson ran away!

An hour later no sign of Tyson! I was hysterical I couldn't believe what was happening! I collected my thoughts and began the search again, all I could think was how foggy and cold it was, how fast people seemed to be driving and how my baby would not be ok, how I would not be okay!
To make a long story short My BF and I stopped to check a local park when my cell phone rang, My dad had come home to find Tyson sitting on the front porch! How he got out??? Who knows it was as if he just dissapeared and then reappeared! We got the scare of our lives this past christmas eve!

I am so glad that he came back! The same type of thing happened to us last year w/ Reznor. I came home frm work and the 3 of us went to play in our backyard. After a few minutes, Reznor started furiously scratching and rubbing his face. I checked him, and almost as I watched, his face started to swell. Rushed him to the vet where he almost died frm shock. Turns out he had been stung by something and had a reaction. I am so glad that both of our puppys are okay!
Also, where in SAC do you live? My husband grew up there and thus, I have been there many, many times and Reznor has been to visit twice. Does it bother you that there are so many chained "yard" dogs there? Every time we visit there, that is one of the things that forms a picture in my mind. I just don't understand why this is "okay" there?!?!??!!!!???! Not that you you have anything to do w/ it...I was jsut wondering what you thought. Again, we are so glad that Tyson is okay.

I live in Elverta but am familiar with most of the Sac area. You know I think it just depends upon the area you are in! Unfortutately many different types of dogs are seen as posessions and status symbols and stolen OR they are gurad dogs to ward off the stealers! There are however many dog lovers here in SAC! Just go to the dog park!

Oh my. How scary. That has happened to me before as well too. My Tyson is a real life Houdini (sp?) and somehow got out of the back yard. I was frantic and looking up and down the street, and it turns it he was sitting on my front porch. When I ran over to him he looked at me like "Why are you freaking out mom?" So glad you found him and that he's OK.

I think we can all understand that kind of panic you were feeling! So glad Tyson returned safe and sound!

That is exactly how he was looking at me!! Honestly I think my little brother may have let him out the front door and not realized that he shouldn't until it was too late! Tyson is not a runner he is exactly the opposite he is always at my side!!
