Great gravy Coz is quick.

We went for a walk yesterday and were coming up to a cafe with out door seating. A woman sitting near the end turned and was obviously a Boxer fan, so we started heading over to say "hi". Coz suddenly shot 6 feet to the left after a bird that I had barely noticed and that Coz had previously seemed to have no interest in. The bird thunked against the side of a parked car as it took off. Coz turned back to me with a couple of tail feathers sticking out of his mouth. He spit them out and went to go meet the women sitting at the cafe...

Mason caught a bunny when he was younger. He was chasing it and he just caught it. The look on his face was hysterical since he had no idea what to do...he just spit the bunny out and it ran a way. I think the bunny probably found a new home further from ours after that! Boxers still comtinue to amaze me with their speed!

I was worried about diseases and parasites. I guess it doesn't come up very often, but what do you do if your dog catches a bird?

Yeah. Most people don't think of them as being fast since they are muscular, squishy faced, dogs. But they can fly. Its always amazes me how much more athletic Coz is as a puppy then other dogs I've had or seen. There's a Golden Retriever puppy in my neighborhood that is maybe a week younger then Coz. I'm pretty sure I could both out run and out quick her. Coz... No way.

Everybody is familiar with their fur kids tossing a favorite toy around and up in the air, right? I looked out the kitchen window and saw Dusty tossing something small up in the air ,catching it. Of course I went to see what he had. Turned out to be a small bird. I retrieved it,it didn't survive Dusty. I wondered how he got it. A few days later I saw how he caught it. When the bird takes off , Dusty jumped about 6 ft straight up off the ground to nab it. Thankfully he missed . He is also an adept mouser, found 2 flattened. I don't think he ment to hurt them, and thankfully he was never bitten.

Zeus has amazed me chasing cats. There's about 20-30 cats at the stables where we board our horses. And he chases them every time. You just see 20+ cats scattering in different directions when they see him coming. He's "caught" some of them by cornering them, but he's in it just for the chase; he always backs off or tries to paw at them to get them to run. I don't think birds interest him as much as cats and squirrels do.

Maybe the cats just don't understand the game of tag! My Katie loves to play tag. And she just gets upset when you don't quite realize that is the game she is playing! Her other fav game is keep away (mostly with my shoes)

Believe it or not, my little bitty pomeranian caught a bird. I let her out to potty and she saw a bird "congregation" on the ground and took off and all the birds flew away. I thought that was the end of that, but she turned around toward me and she had a bird in her mouth, I yelled "drop that, it's mean!" she dropped the little bird and he flew on his way.

One night after being outside Mason came it the house with "something" in his mouth. Turns out it was a frog. Mason didn't harm the little thing, he had it ever so gently in his mouth and spit it out right at my feet ( I guess he was giving me his version of a present). I then had to chase the hopping little bugger around the living room and when I finally caught it it peed all over the place!!!!!! I put it back out side with a strict warning to stay out of Masons mouth!!!!!
