Our 5 month old pup has been having these crazy amounts of yellow eye goobers for a few weeks now, we asked the vet when we went and she didn't seemed worried as long as they don't turn green. But two days ago she started this wierd cough gag thing that got worse yesterday evening, but has never thrown up from it. It sounds almost like her throat itches and shes trying to scratch it, it seems to help if I bring her over and get her to drink some water, that makes the "cough" stop. Has anyone ever seen this? Should I take her back to the vet?

I don't have any answers for you but I would definately take her back to the vet. I would not take any chances with Patrick. Can't tell you how many times I would say to the doc "this may be nothing but..."
Better safe than sorry.

Our pup had similar symptoms....started in the eyes too and then the coughing, gagging etc and she had an upper respiratory infection....some Amoxicillin and she was fine.

Update

We took our pup to the vet today, last night she started sneezing and snot would come flying out, and then she threw up this morning. Turned out to be kennel cough, we're glad we didn't waste any time. She's on antibiotics for the next two weeks. She was vaccinated againt kennel cough but they told us today that it doesn't prevent it just lowers the risk of getting it.

Ahha poor baby. Glad you got to the bottom of it and no doubt she'll be fine in no time with the antibiotics. Good Luck.
