my friend has allergies, she can't even go in my car as my dogs go in there on occasion.
She has one long haired cat and two non shedding "slipper" dogs and has no problems with these but my boxers, forget it she blows up like a balloon, he throat itches etc.
to be on the safe side I would test out a boxer with your wife before trying to commit to one.
