All of the sudden scared to jump on couch

We have a 3 year old boxer who is all of the sudden scared to jump on the couch. He finally got up yesterday and would not jump off, and since then has not even gotten close to it. He will jump on our bed and off the bed with no problem and he doesn't seem to be in any pain. This is the weirdest thing I've seen out of our dog, and it is beginning to worry my wife and I. He just seems pitiful and will go lay on the opposite side of the living room. Would love any suggestions or possible reasons.

Sounds like something happened when he was on the couch that scared or hurt him. Maybe he got a static electricity shock? Or maybe he got a toenail hung on the fabric? It's hard to say for sure. Hopefully with time he'll forget about his bad experience and start getting on the couch again. Have you tried coaxing him with treats?

well its weird, he will get up if I coax him with a toy or something, but he will only get up on the opposite side of his blanket which is usually the side he jumps up on. If anything i would think he would be scared of our bed because he fell off a couple of nights ago but he could care less about the bed. I appreciate your help, hopefully it will just pass.

I bet the blanket had static electricity and your baby got a little jolt. Sure would deter me.
