Hello

My 6 mth old puppy has been throwing up since early this morning. She is still active, eating and drinking fine yet she can't stop throwing up. After she eats she will throw up bile.

We've been feeding her chicken hotdogs (during part of her puppy training class) we're not sure if thats has upset her stomach. She has been on Nutro Chicken and Rice food since she was 10 wks old, it has never affected her before so I don't think its her kibble.

Has anyone else had this problem? If she doesn't get better I am going to take her to the vet tomorrow morning.

Thanks.

usually when they throw up bile mean's that they are hungry how many time's doe's he eat? you don't say what time he get's sick if it has been awhile after he eat's maybe a snack will help

Is there any chance Alexis ate anything she shouldn't have? A small object--something that could casue an obstruction? Is she pooping normally? Is her tummy/abdomen soft?

I think your plan to take her in tomorrow morning is an excellent one. If she becomes lethargic tonight, you may want to call the emergency vet.

Keep us posted!

Alexis

She eats three times a day and often has snacks inbetween. I don't think she is hungry. Her throwing up is so odd. As I meantioned before she is still quite active.
BeckyNC, her bowel movements are normal. I am wondering the same thing as you if she got into something and ate it. Would the chicken hotdogs perhaps upset her belly?

IMO I would think the hotdogs may cause an upset to the tummy, how many did she have? There are so many biproducts and fillers in those things, not to mention the sodium. Keep a close eye on her, and let us know what the vet say tomorrow.

You may want to consider witholding her food for 12-24 hrs to give her system time to calm down, or feeding her a bland diet of chicken and rice, as well. If it continues...definitely take her to the vet.

I would say the most likely cause is the chicken hot dogs. If her tummy isn't settled by next morning, I'd second the suggestion of a boiled chicken and rice diet. That should help to settle things down for her.
