I was just looking through the paper and noticed a lot of ads which featured dogs registered with the CKC Continental Kennel Club. Do any of you have experience with the CKC?

From what I know, CKC is where the breeders who were banned from AKC go. They do not require any type of dna testing and will usually register just from a picture. Unfortunately we didn't know anything about BYB's before boxerworld. Willow was supposed to be AKC registered, but is only CKC. Her breeder was awful.

Corgan and Loke are AKC and the parents had papers with AKC. But Buttons, pom, is CKC and I had no idea what that was until hubby bought him from me and he is BYB. From what I read up on CKC you don't really have to prove they are purebred, I could be wrong but that was my impression. ;) I didn't even bother sending in the registration for Buttons, I figure my money is better spent elsewhere and at least with AKC I knew more about what they were.

You are not wrong, in fact, the ConKC will allow registration of mixes, provided both parents are purebred - of any recognized breed.
