Hello, i have a 5 month old boxer that is driving me nuts. I knew that boxers have a lot of energy but wow lol

jumping, trying to bite my feet etc. From what i read all of this is normal for this age and they do calm down when they are older but ahhhhhh lol

Im going to sign him up for some trainning and i hope that helps, i really need him to behave due to the fact i live with my 82 year old grandmother. Im the only one that can help her right now.

Do they calm down when older? This is my 1st boxer as you can tell

He is at 40+lbs already and im worried he will hurt my grandmother

Thanks for the advice and tips

From our experience with Tyson (our first and current boxer) he settled down some once we had him neutered, then when he turned 3 he settled down even more. There is hope :)

I suggest that you take him to obedience training and really work with him on commands. Also, have your grandmother work with him on those commands so that he learns to listen to her as well as you.

Exercise, exercise, and more exercise!!! Combine a tired dog with a trained dog, and you'll be set. Continue with your obedience training (it's ongoing for years!), and exercise the heck out of your dog. Off leash games of fetch, multiple walks a day, bust out a laser pointer inside if your dog likes to chase it around! One way or the other - tire that pup out!

Thanks for the tips. He will be starting trainning next week. For the most part he is well behaved but he has his moments which i understand.

I can deal with him wanting attention but i jusy worry he will accidently hurt my grandmother.

He was the 1st born and he is big, most people cant believe is is only 5 months old. I also have been feeding him blue buffalo since i got him. He eats better than i do lol

So lets see, i hope that with the tranning he at least listens so i can relax a little while im away on post.
