Thanks in advance for all your help! I have a VERY BIG PROBLEM !!. Sasha my 5 year old boxer is very agressive towards dogs that she does not know. She is fine with my dad's dogs a female german sheperd and a female old english sheep dog, she is also ok with her two boxer friends, she is even ok with my small finnish spitz and my sisters chiguagua, both males.... but I cannot go to the park if somebody is walking a dog that she does not know because she will start pulling barking, snarling, growling... trust me she does not want to play! if she gets to them she will fight them, she does not even smells them, she just jumps on top of them :S
I want her to be ok with other dogs and take her to dog parks etc... she is not agressive to humans at all, she loves people, walks well with a leach and knows the basic commands... what woud you think the problem is and how can I fix it??!!

I had this issue with my 1st boxer Lottie, she would literally pin other dogs to the ground by standing over them. She was extremely dominant, in the end she was seen by a behaviourist who identified her as being fear aggressive, lots of socialization helped her but she is still prone to taking instant dislikes to certain dogs.

Maybe a good doggy day care is in order. My Edie goes twice a week, she had never been socialized before we got her. It is making a world of difference. It was recommended by the behaviorist at her obedience class. Try to find a center near you that has daycare and classes and talk to their behaviorist, it is suppose to work with aggressive dogs also.

Has she always been this way? I ask because my girl has and sounds just like yours. Loves her friends but strange dogs-not so much. She was socialized from day one (got her at nine weeks from a reputable breeder) but is just not reliable around strange dogs. At this point I am focusing more on obedience to be sure I can always refocus her. I will be interested to see how you proceed as they sound identical :) Good luck and keep us (me) posted

Thank you for all your comments..

I have been reading the articles about dog aggression that are posted in the Behavioral Issues Page, they are all very good, specially the one about Diffusing Aggressing Behaviours by Debi Davis http://www.clickersolutions.com/arti...aggression.htm
For right now thats what I will try... as for a doggy day care, I'm still looking for one that also works with a behaviorist, the regular ones I know wont take my "unstable dog" lol...

I will keep you posted for any improvements :D

You do not want to trust your baby to them anyway :) A good behavorist will know what the best environment for your pup is. Keep us posted as I am on the same path and best of luck!

Nice to know I am not alone. To see Nysa with her buddies you would never dream she had any dog on dog aggression issues :) She has fooled a couple of unsuspecting off lead dogs when their owners did not believe that my pretty little thing would go after their big, ol' dogs. And God help the dog that messes with her pack-she does not bite-so far- but I know she would if provoked-as you can imagine I am extrememly cautious :)
