Ok so I have a 2y/o female (Roxy) and a apx 4-5 y/o male (Frank). Roxy was our first dog and we had her since she was a puppy and we got Frank about a year and a half ago. Now they have always had little scuffles over toys or food but in general love each other and are inseperable. Lately Roxy has become VERY possessive and she has been instigating scuffles with Frank - even biting him and drawing blood. Now he only defends and has never hurt her. But it has gotten more and more frequent with her. Is it an age thing??? Help!

It could be that she's coming into maturity and not tolerating other dogs/sharing as well, it could also be an underlying health issue. Low thyroid is very common in boxers and it can cause all sorts of symptoms, including behavioral issues. I would first take her to the vet to have some tests run (ask for a FULL thyroid panel, not just a T4 test, as this is the best way to diagnose low thyroid) before assuming that she's being grouchy for no good reason.

And as the poster above said, if one or both of them are intact, now would be a good time to spay/neuter.
