Took Bubba to the vet becuase he slung a post out last night.. it just wouldn't stay in.

It's been 5 days since surgery and they said to leave the posts off. His ears are standing perfect I agree but everywhere I read how it takes a few months of posting.. his stitches aren't even out!!

I'm trusting the vet in this, anyone else have an experience like this? If I see an ear as much as droop I'll betrying to figure out how to wrap my self or take him back.. a little worried. The cut looks great, makes me wanna call him Radar lol.

How much of a crop did you have done? Did you do a show crop or closer to a "pitbull" crop? If the ears are standing I would leave them alone. If you are unsure on how to tape please take him back to the vet or your breeder and let they teach you. My first two boxers I took back to the breeder until we edge taped because I was so scared to mess something up or tape too tight and mess up the circulation to the ears. I only finally felt comfortable doing this last boy's ears. He was posted and taped until he was almost a year old.

Hope this helps. Maybe you could post some pictures?

Took him back tot he Vet this morning. Just wasn't happy with it. The right ear didn't look right this morning. They are going to Re Wrap again today for me. Hope everything is ok.. could one night of being un wrapped keep things from seting right?

No one night down shouldn't hurt anything. Good luck at the vet today. Hope all goes well. Keep an eye on his ears. The should stay dry and not smell.

Thanks for the replies =)

I took Bubba back in this morning and they re wrapped everything much better than last time.

Turns out there was a different Doc on duty yesterday... feel much better coming home today =)

Everything is looking good.

We go back in a few days to get stitches out and go from there.

Jada never had hers taped. Unusual I know but it worked. She was my third boxer and my first two both were taped. I still remember Renska with her cup on her head lol. With Jada I told they vet I wanted a short crop nothing show style for ease. He one ear took pefect. The second ear laid down while it healed so sometimes it will stil lay. If I would have been more prepared I would have massaged the ear but was afraid I would hurt. For the most part both ears stand great and I tell her that when the one droops a bit it just gives her more character. I did wrap the one ear for a little. Good luck.
