My kids are 3 mos. old now and heard thunder for the first time this morning!! Apparently, according to hubby, they were looking around wondering what the heck it was. He thought that they were afraid, so today while at work, we turned on the radio a little louder than usual. Hopefully it will drowned out some of the thunder noise!!

I just hope that I'm home for their first big boomer storm. I want them to be able to cuddle with me.

Karen, I hope you are there too when the next storm comes around. We hardly ever have thunder where we live in Calif. but when we do it is a big deal. People talk about it and are fascinated by the lightning and thunder. Our first boxer was afraid of the thunder and came running to me at first crack and always got in my lap! He never got over the fear. Our current boxer Cody doesn't pay any attention to it - he is 3 now. Same breed, different results.

A little story

My sister was out on a hike in the Arizona desert. She has 2 boxers - Winnie and Buster. Well, there was a large clap of thunder and they both took off. Buster came back pretty quickly, but Winnie never came back. My sister looked for the rest of the day, but no luck. She posted signs everywhere in the area and about 4 days later, got a call from a family that was hiking. They came across a funny looking coyote that tended to lick alot. They remembered the signs and gave her a call.

Of course, my sister was so happy to get Winnie back, but we were amazed that she was fine, and didn't get taken down by real coyotes. Needless to say, Winnie isn't afraid of thunderstorms anymore.

Wrigley did the exact same thing this morning, we live right by you so it was the same storm. It woke me up and I looked at him to see what he would do. Wrigley stood up and walked from one side of the bed to the other. It looked like he was making sure there was no one in the house (beacuse he would have licked them to death). Then it seemed like he figured out that it was outside and just laid down and went back to bed. It seemed like he was more curious than scared.

Wrigley's dad,

Hey, your wrigley is just four days younger than my bonnie and he looks exactly like my Clyde!! What a cutie, I love the picture with the yellow shirt.

It's also a free hug for me. They get sick of me hugging and kissing them all the time. it's like having teenagers..."c'mon mom, leave us alone already"

Except at nap time, then they are all about the love.
