I'm so nervous!

We are thinking of adopting another boxer and we are in the process of visiting right now...Lambeau and Madeline have met 2 times now and both times were complete and total craziness!! We are doing a weekend visit this weekend to see how it goes. I am so scared to get another b/c we are so afraid like will never be calm again. Is it true??! I don't know if I can do that craziness all the time! Don't get me wrong, I love the crazy boxer personality and we really want Lambeau to have a friend as well as Madeline to have a permanent home, but I just worry about it making us crazy too! :) Advice? When I read that it has been 3 months and it is just now settling down in one of these posts... I don't know if I can do that!! We are in such a good routine right now with Lambeau....ahh! Help! I am wondering if they will ever sleep? ever just relax?? I always see these pics of people's dogs and they are sitting so nicely and laying together...when does that happen? We are just trying to be realistic and prepare ourselves...

I think at first the addition of another boxer is like an extended slumber party. Eventually the CONSTANT playing will die down.

As for food snatching, I feed my two in their crates for a few reasons. 1) They are not on the same diet; Mella has food allergies and has special feed. 2) If they are separated they cannot get into a fight over food. There has been no previous problem with this, but why wait? 3) It keeps the floor cleaner. The crate mats are cleaned regularly, but the carpet gets scrubbed whenever! 4) To associate being in the crate with something good (dinners) and not always bad (i.e.abandoned while parents are at work).

We had the same problem with food when we brought Lucy home. Rocky would inhale the puppy food if you turned your back for one second. We had to feed Lucy in her crate until she was big enough to share the same food he ate. Even then if she didn't finish and the crate door was left open he would sneak in and finish the puppy food. He gained 10 lbs and I was REALLY watching them. Now that they eat the same food, we only have one bowl and they take turns or sometimes stick both eats in and share.
