Advice for my 10.5 yr old having seizures

All, its been a long time since i posted on here but i need advice. My Daisy (will be 11 in September) was put on phenobaribol May 27 after her 3rd seizure (one a year ago, one about 2 months ago and one on Memorial Day). Her vet did a thorough exam and said it is definately neurological. We have decided against an MRI as the last time Daisy had anesthesia it took her weeks to return to normal.
She is now on pheno, her gabopentin for pain (she has a bad leg) and amantadine (a 3 week pain manager). Yesterday, she urinated outside on her dog bed. I was in the kitchen and my husband chalked it up to her being an old girl and not feeling like getting up. I don't buy it. I am really worried. I am supposed to wait until tomorrow to check in with her vet but my instinct tells me to call now. Thoughts? I am so frightened she is fading and I don't want to see her "embarassed" or in pain.

I wonder if she had a seizure and that is why she urinated on her bed. Did you call your vet?

It is tough when your dog starts to deteriorate and you start to wonder at what point is it time to say enough is enough. As long as she seems happy and is eating well, it's not time yet.

I left a message for the vet. There are a few in the practice and her primary usually returns messages at the end of the day/evening. She seems happy and is eating however sometimes she looks completely out of it and is very slow getting up (again due to arthritis in one of her hind legs). It is just heartbreaking to watch them get old.

It is definitely very sad watching our dogs get old. Their lives are way too short. Did you hear back from your vet?

We had a similar issue, see if her water intake has gone up exponentially. That is a side affect of the pheno which then it might take them a bit to learn to ask to go sooner.
