After exhausting all of my options and trying to save this little girl, it is with a heavy heart that I share that Abby passed over the bridge this afternoon. I spent a while on the phone this afternoon with my vet, and he told me that after observing her behavior the past couple of weeks he thought it was the right thing to do. He said they don't put dogs to sleep lightly.

It was an extremely difficult thing for me to do, but I know in my heart of hearts that I did the right thing not only for Abby, but my family as well.

Thank you, all for your help and support during these difficult times.

ETA: I tried to get the "crooked petstore's" corporate to take responsibility for Abby and take her back. She was just nasty to me and REFUSED to believe that a 5 month old puppy could be dangerous and aggressive, and actually implied that it was not due to them buying from a puppy mill, but her environment at home.

The only way she will remotely consider a refund is "proof" from my vet and two different trainer's observations of her behavior...ON THEIR LETTERHEAD!

Guess what? She's gonna get it. IF I am able to get a refund for what we paid for her, I have decided to donate the refund to help relief for the animals in Louisiana or the Red Cross.

Atleast, somehow, I can get some justice for this poor little girl.

I'm so sorry. I know this has been terribly painful for you. You did all that you could and exhausted all of your options. My best wishes and a hug to your family and Abby. Her pain and confusion has ended and for her sake you took the pain on yourself. I hope you can open your home to another baby, maybe a rescue or maybe another baby from a reputable place. I'm really sorry=(

Rest in peace and safety little Abby, nothing can ever hurt you now.

Godspeed Abby!!!

You did all you could do for her even as difficult as a decision as this has been. To put her into another home would have confused her more and more importantly you didnt let her harm any child or herself. She knew you were there for her no matter what and you didnt let her down.

Abby go run and play.. be free from all those evil demons.

Linda Sue,

Im crying as I write this, I am SO sorry for you and your family's loss. Please know that you did everything and more for Abby, and though it may not have been visible, she felt the love that you gave her. You made the right decision, and NOBODY should question you on that. Your baby is at peace now, and much happier.

Also please know that after following your story, you have touched at least me, and shown me exactly what can happen with pet store puppies. I never again will purchase a puppy from a pet store. I'm sorry that your pain and suffering is what it took for me to learn this lesson, but I thank you for sharing the story with me.

Lastly, I hope that you can find it in your heart to open your heart and home to another dog who does need a forever family. You have really demonstrated that you would give the best home to any dog lucky enough to have you.

You are in my thoughts.

Godspeed little Abby.
