Abbie just attacked the neighbors dog.

I just took a little break from work so I could go home and let Abbie out to do her buisness. I opened the back door and did not notice the neighbors dogs in my yard so I left my screen door open and walked back in my bedroom the neighbors dog walks by and it strardled me I scream Abbie runs in as fast as lightning and jumps the dog I tried to break it up but when I did the dog bit me! So Abbie then goes ballistic. My other neighbor heard and came to help me to finally get the other dog outside. Abbie was not hurt but the other dogs had blood all over it.I cleaned the dog up and it doesnt seem to be really hurt. I am trying to get in touch with the owners. I just dont know what to do. The last thing I want is a neighbor being upset at my dog. I feel really bad about her hurting the other dog.

Your neighbor shouldn't be upset because their dog was in your yard, and then in your house, and then bit you! If anything, your neighbor should be worried about YOU being upset! Abbie was only protecting you. I'm sorry it all happened though and I can imagine how upsetting it would all be! Take care of that bite!

How upsetting, I agree that I wouldn't be worried so much about the other dogs owners being upset, seeing as how their dog was in your house. Hope everything turns out okay.

I don't think I would worry about your neighbors either - if they let their dog roam, there is no telling what can happen. Your dog didn't attack the other dog for no reason, she was protecting her mom. As long as the other dog isn't hurt, it's just a distressing situation.

My yard is fenced in so I am not sure how they got in. I taled to my land lord about it. She said for me not to worry about it. Its not the first time they have got in my yard and I have been really nice about it. I will go talk to them as soon as they get home. There dogs are still in my back yard playing in Abbie's pool. I just cant let her out to potty out the back until they get the dogs back at their house.

That is terrible. Have you talked to these neighbours before? At this point you should be more worried about yourself and Abbie. Certainly you should be able to let Abbie out in her own yard. I hope that both of you are well.

you did nothing wrong to be worried about your neighbors being annoyed at your dog. their dog was in your yard and your home. abby was protecting her home and mom she was a brave girl. they seem like very unresponsible people to just let the dog wander. if it happens again call animal control and tell them what happened in the past. luckily this time no one got hurt but in the mayham you could have or abby could have. talk to your neighbors and tell them exactly what happened and you wont put up with it.

I talked to my neighbor yesterday afternoon. She felt really bad about it and she then proceeded to try and find out where they were they were getting out of her yard and in mine.I told her I wasnt trying to be difficult that I understand dogs do get out and God forbid if Abbie ever got out I hope that she would be understanding but if both of her dogs had gotten in my house it could have been more of a pack mentality thing and Abbie or myself could have been really hurt. My land lord said she would back me up whatever I wanted to happen. As long as she fixes the fence Im okay. I feel sorry for the dogs because they are outside all of the time. They dont even have toys in the back yard exept the ones they have taken from my yard. I guess Abbie is the cool dog with all the toys and pool in her yard !

It is so bad when people just don't take care of their animals like they should. We have a neighbor who has a beautiful English Setter. They just shove him out the door and he entertains himself for hours at a time. He crosses the road to come in our yard and comes to the door to see if we will let SuzyQ out to play. He goes to the neighbors and all the time the owners don't even know where he is. I feel sorry for him because he just wants a little company & attention - I have just had to harden my heart to the fact that one day something bad will happen to this lovely dog.

I have never understood why people have dogs and dont spend any time with them and just open the door and let them out. I know where my baby is all of the time.
