A Summer Reminder

Just a reminder it's almost summer and it's geetin hot. Please keep you pups well hydrated, if you go for a walk or to the park bring an bottle of water for you and your pups water. they get hotter than we do. And of coarse never leave them in a car in the summer It makes me so sad when I read about this in the paper or here it on the news.. Thanks again and have a good safe summer..

Thanks for the reminder. I get so angry when I see dogs locked in cars while their owners are shopping. Don't they get it? We've had some hot days here in PA and I can tell Champ is feeling the heat. Time to get the AC in the window!

That is a good reminder. I can already tell the difference in Oscar. It takes him longer to cool off. He has also found the AC vents in the house.
Just curious.....are there any early warning signs that he should be brought inside and cooled off when playing??

We bought this neat "canteen" (SP?) that we can fill with water and attach at our wastes, the bottle holder then becomes the dish! it's great for hikes or long walks! It doesn't hur tto have that extra weight on your waster for those of us ( like me) who are trying to lose weight!

And for everyone in the Southern Hemisphere (there are lots of us), make sure your Boxers don't get too cold. We lit the fire for the first time last night and I've pulled the dog coats out of storage today

Thanks for the reminder. Sadie takes a lot longer to cool off and gets tired just a little faster. Actually sometimes we have to make her stop playing when we see her panting too hard. Water is her very best friend...especially out of the hose!

We have to stop Mason too sometimes because I am afraid of him overheating. I make him go in the water before we get into the boat to help keep him cool. I am going to order a few of these chilly bones to keep on the boat too. I feel bad in the summer since Mason always wants to go with us and we can't bring him because of the heat. :( I know it is for his own good, but the eyes just kill me as I'm walking out the door.

Layla has a chilly bone! I freeze it and she just loves to chew on it, b/c it is cold on her little gums! Great for teething as well as keeping our babies cool in the heat! Especially for those of us living in South Texas ! Great idea, I didn't even think about those being good for summer!

Oskar loves the chilly bone! We got it for him when he was teething and he loves to chew on it still. He also loves icecubes BUT remember to wet them before you give them or it will stick(I learned the hard way!) Just picture Oskar's lip withan icecube hanging off and the saddest eyes! Oh i wish I had my camera ready!
