My boxer,Apollo will run for about a minute and then get tired and take a nap.Is it normal for puppies to get tired so quickly? I am very worried about him and would like to hear replies or an answer to my question. I would very much appreciate it.

This is very normal. Puppies play really hard, then sleep really hard

Puppies, just like human babies, sleep a lot. I remember this worrying me too when Scarlet was a new puppy. I would actually wake her up to make sure she was ok (I did this to my human babies too) smashicon .

One time when Scarlet was in her regular sleeping spot sleeping I checked on her and her eyes were 1/2 open and looked like they were rolled back in her head. She didnt wake up when I layed my hand on her side and my heart jumped out of my chest. After I gasped and jiggled her she woke up and looked at me like: what is your problem. :o

I just reread your post before clicking submit and it reads that your puppy does this after one minute of play? Now Im concerned. Is this all the time?

The 1 minute concerned me too. Hopefully we are just taking your words too literally.

Chance does not map as much as he used to now that he is 4 months.

He can play up to three hours and than sleep like a baby. I at times make him get rest because I have 2 skin kids; 6 and 4.

I am no doctor, but my breeder told me to expect 45 min of active play before he needs a nap.

I'm going with Des in thinking we take the"one min" too literally. Sweetpea used to do a lot of sleeping after only a short time of play. Now the only time she naps is in my lap while I am driving or in the dirty laundry when I am trying to wash it. With the seemingly boundless energy that Boxers have, I kind of miss those naps.

My puppy Kneesaa did the same exact thing.. She's 3 months old now and she is soooooo energetic... it's actually completely opposite of when we first got her... but it is sooo great... she's so much fun...:D
