His ears fly just like Cody's do, so I wouldn't say the ears would be a determining factor. Did either of the parents have white on them? You didn't mention it when you described them. His eyes don't scream pit to me and his nose is a bit boxier than other pit/boxer mixes I have seen. It really is hard to say just from pictures....as all boxers are not created equal and some full blooded boxers have longer noses.
He is awfully cute though no matter what he is lovicon .

Thanks! He is adorable and becoming very territorial outside, which I like since my husband is navy and out to sea 1/2 the year.
His father had the white stripe up his nose and down his jowls before the black started like most boxers have on their faces. both had their tails as well as a puppy they kept from the previous litter at the time he was 1yr, solid black muzzle red all over, no white socks or anything. In looking at pictures on the net I realized the mother closer resembled a smaller mastiff...and she was OLD dad was 9 I think he said she was pushing 13 which his just unreal to me but her face was all grey and I felt so bad for her. Her markings though looked like the other puppy she had no white on her either.

He’s adorable regardless! If your concerned about the neighbors and that, I would look into getting him tattooed or microchipped. In case anything ever happened to him, he would have permanent identification.

My boyfriend has a white male boxer that weighs in the 90's. Ignorant neighbors are always confusing him for a pitt.

It doesn't look like your boy is a pure bred boxer though..I have to agree he looks like a mix. Either way, he is absolutely adorable. Be careful with those kids down the block...I second the microchip suggestion.

While he's definitely a cutie, he doesn't look purebred to me either. Sounds like you bought from a backyard breeder, unfortunately. If you're really curious, DNA testing doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I believe it's around $60 bucks.

One thing about the pitbull breed is that it isn't a 'pure breed' at all. It's a mixture of over 15 bully breeds, and yes, that includes the boxer as well as other pit breeds like staffordshires and american pits, etc. You're guy could possibly be a pitbull breed, but will boxer as the primary breed. Never know unless you do the genetic tests. Even then, you may get a complete mix of primary, secondary and minimal mixes which won't specify a certain main breed anyways.

Your guy could be a boxer, just a poorly bred one. Could also be some other breed in the mix generations back. My staffy looked all pit when I got her. Once I studied up on the breed, I understood how the confusion comes about. She was a staffordshire as her primary breed, but somewhere in her lineage, there was a cavalier. The cavalier only showed in her demeanor and the way she ran. Other than that, she was all staffy.

In short, your guy can be whatever you think him to be. Until he is about 2, he will be changing quite a bit. Being all white, it's tough to see the breed without the markings. To be safe in a questionable neighborhood, I would continue to say he's boxer.......and if or when you do the genetic testing........saying boxer mix is perfectly ok!!!

Did boomer come with papers??

I may have missed it if you said if Boomer had papers or not?? Maybe he is part boxer or just a poorly bred boxer? Does he have an underbite?? Just curious because my male boxer has papers but doesn't have much of an underbite? MKes me wonder

no papers unfortunately, but he does have an under bite. If I close his mouth I can fit about half my thumb over his bottom teeth before they touch his top teeth. They don't stick out or anything, looking at him head on you can't tell but it's so there LOL
