Jan, I am so sorry you have to make that hard decision. Cody also started not being able to walk with his rear legs and it was hard on him as well as me to have to help him walk and lift him. You are doing the best thing, although it is the hardest.

Unfortunately the prednisone has not worked. I spoke to my vet tonight and the decision has been made to put Markus to sleep. It's the best thing that I can do for him. I don't want him to suffer any longer. He will be going to the rainbow bridge at 10.45am on Friday. :(

My thoughts and prayers are with you and Marcus...I just went thru this with my Doc yesterday..He crossed over to Rainbow Bridge and now I am without my best friend...
You are doing the right thing, although it is not the easiest thing...Just know that I feel your heartache and will be thinking of you both...

Jan, I am so sorry for you and Markus. Just think of all the great times you had together. You were lucky to spend those times together. Try to take comfort in that. I know how hard it is to let go, as I lost my Maude in December, but I know she knew how much I loved her, and my life is better for having had her in it. I'm sure you feel the same about Markus, and he knows how much you love him. Take care of yourself.
