My dog had a kidney stone removed and was put on Science Diet C/D. She did very poorly on this food and she gained a lot of weight on it, bad skin and coat. My Vet agreed but said to choose another food but they did not carry anything else. Acn anyone advise me of a dry food that would be good for my dog that was low in magnesium and would support her problem with the kidney stone? she does not have stones now.

You could go to a senior formula such as Wellness Super5Mix Senior which has lower protein content and lower phosphorus content or Canidae Platinum which also has lower protein, phosphorus and magnesium. :)

My Dad's Bichon has problems with stones. She would have nothing to do with the SD c/d which I was happy about. He has been giving her distilled water with apple cider vinegar in it and so far she has been stone free (for about 9 months now)

After having 2 surgeries to remove huge stones, this is good news for us.
