Boxer Pal
Ok, so our sweet Revvy is now about 13 weeks. Full of energy and when not playing is sweet as can be. However, when he plays he wants to bite. My husband and I have tried "yelping" in a high pitch, we have also tried saying ouch in a high pitch as well. We have tried ignoring him and also tried giving him a firm no. Lastly, we've tried to hand him a toy when he starts biting us. None of these seem to work with this pup. He is so stubborn and just keeps at it. As of now, it hurts because those puppy teeth are extremely sharp, but I'm more worried about when he grows up and those jaws get stronger. Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to correct this?
Secondly, he seems to have severe separation anxiety. If we leave for even 10 minutes, he has ripped up his puppy pad in his crate and his howling and crying. We put him in his crate because he is still potty training, however we have even put him in a bathroom with the crate door open, so he doesn't feel so caged in. Nope, doesn't work. He seems to like his crate okay when we are home. If my husband and I are gone for an hour or longer, it seems like Revvy is angry with us and will wake us up every hour at night, even if he doesn't have to potty. When we leave we have tried putting a radio near the crate, we've tried putting old shirts of ours in the crate, and we leave a Kong for him to chew on. Nothing seems to work.
Lastly, he no longer poops in his crate at night, he knows to wake us up. But for some reason he won't let us know he has to pee until AFTER he has done so. And when we let him for 15-30 minutes sometimes he won't pee, but the second I put him in his crate and walk out of the room to shower in the morning he pees. Any suggestions?
