Sorry I missed you guys:( We obviously went to the wrong dog park. I printed directions from the internet for Simpson Statium. Anyway, it was a pretty nice park and Nino had a good time. There was only one other boxer there though and he was a little aggressive so his owner didn't let him stay long, so I still don't know how Nino will play with other boxers. Maybe we'll be able to make it next time - if I can get the correct directions. Hope you all had a great time

We also have a home in Chincoteague, Va which is not too far from you guys. We take Nino down there every other weekend. He doesn't like the ride much but he loves it when we get there. He has a big yard to run in and its on a canal so he gets to check out the ducks and birds diving in the water. I don't know about Pokomoke but Chincoteague is not very pet friendly. It seems like everywhere we go there are signs posted "NO PETS". You can't take them to the parks or beach.

Wow! Chincoteague is only about 15 mins. from us. (When I drive) 20 mins. when Michael drives. Pocomoke has leash laws, but we're such a small town, we really don't have any great places to take our dogs. There's a nice park in Salisbury (that's north of us), but we don't get up there too much. It's funny that you mentioned the signs. We've lived here our whole lives and we've gone to Chincoteague/Assateague a thousand times. We've taken Luke & Ginger to the beach a few times and they LOVE it. The last time we were there a very nice, couple approached us. They were dog-people and loved our Boxers. They told us that dogs weren't allowed on the beach. We couldn't believe. Sure enough there was a sign at the entrance. I guess we just ignored it for all these years. So that depressed us somewhat since our children loved playing in the waves. We got good news though. Assateague Island was divided during Hurricane Hazel back in the 1930's I think. If you know how to get to the Maryland side of Assateague, they do allow you to have your animals.

By The Way...

Thanks for your warm welcome. I told my husband about the Bash and he was upset as well. We will definitely look out for the next one. We're going to go visit our new little girl on Saturday and pay for her. It'll be about a week before she gets to come home because they require that she be spayed by one of their vets. Our daughter Courtney has named her Isabelle and we don't even have her yet!!! I am taking my camera on Sat. and will be taking some pictures. I'll get them online ASAP. We're keeping our fingers crossed that everything goes well.

Okay so are we planning for memorial weekend (sunday) at aimee's? did you talk to jason? if aimee's is not going to work then we are going to have to plan something else. i can not wait for the next bash

I hope we're still on for Memorial Day get together - I need a BREAK from puppy adoption days - every weekend for past month and now my second litter is hitting 5 weeks - so I'll be starting on theirs in about 4 weeks. Memorial Day weekend will be a nice in-between time of both litters to take a break from anything rescue.

My husband has been pressing me...

To go out of town to visit some close friends who have a beach home in VA. I haven't been interested because truthfully I don't want to spend days away from Blade. They have already said he is NOT welcome :(.. I am going to to purchase that book which gives all the dog friendly hotels. Butas far as Memorial Day weekend... nothing is set in stone so keep me posted. If I am in town I would love to go.

Unfortunantly it looks as if we are travelling out of town for a wedding..not first on my list, but it's Jason's cousin. Sorry :( I would still like to arrange for a few of us to get together though!!

They live near Northumberland Va. Ever heard of it? The wife is going through chemotherapy, and the husband is a neat yard freak. As long as my daughter can be available to watch him at home, I may go with them. I'll keep you posted if I can use you help. Thanks again.
