I have always had dogs and as a child was "The animal lover in the house." I once thought I wanted to go to school to become a veterinarian. But my course in life went another direction. That is really something that you take the time to help dogs in need. Unfortunately my husband would never go for me taking in rescues, he fusses enuf because of the 2 dogs I have, even though he loves them both. Keep up the much needed service for unwanted pets. Laurel I do homevisits for Dianne and the sheltie rescue I volunteer for has gotten several shelties from Upshur county. They are a very very very high kill shelter and I thank you for what you do. If I can ever be of assistance to you, don't hesitate to call on me!

Right now I would say either May 19th or maybe even May 26th. The reason I was thinking May 26th was because Monday is Memorial Day and a holiday for those having to travel a couple of hours....I'll check with Jason to make sure we don't have previous plans for Memorial Day if that works better for everyone. If not the first weekend in June would probably be nice too, June 2.

Maggie Mae is ready to play! Sundays are good for us too. Looks like it would be about a 2 hour trip from Frederick to Spotsylvania but we're willing to make the trip (and I refuse to get sick this time!). The pictures are great. Keep them coming! I want more details too! What did the "kids" do? Did everyone get along? Did anyone have to be put in "timeout"? We have Maggie in puppy school right now so she's learning to play nicely with others. My only concern is she still doesn't come when we call her. But I guess if everything's fenced in, that's not too much of a problem. Maybe we'll have taught her to come to us before the next party.

HA!! Scarlet does not know her name when she is playing with her pals so dont get your hopes up. At this last bash she came when I called her from across the park and I was SHOCKED! I'm sure everyone that saw it was equally as impressed so I didnt bother to tell them that this was the first time in her life that she actually came to me at a park when called. I just let everyone think my dog were incredibly trained. NOT.

Boxymom believe me, Subi and Bailey come 85% of the time, but if something is going on that they are more interested in then they have the selective hearing, something that worked for us was I took them to the dog park in Annapolis, anytime i felt like calling them to see if they would come i just called their name, when they did come i got all excited and kept saying good girls but in a VERY enthuiast tone, worked wonders.
BUT when they dont feel like coming i say their MIDDLE name and they RUN over BAILEY ANN AND SUBI RU over here NOW.
VOOM they are at my side instantly, they know when i add that middle name they better come a runnin
a couple of people thought i was kind of funny, but let me tell you IT WORKS!!!
