working from home with a Boxer is no easy task!

i work from home part of the year, and i have to listen attentively! Our puppy has destroyed a sofa, ottoman, cable remote, shoes...but he loves feathers! Feather pillows are the most entertaining for him, followed by toilet paper. The destruction in two minutes is so very impressive! And he gets many walks per day, as well as dogpark running...I've never had a puppy that loved to chew and rip apart everything with stuffing! And to know how to get to 'offlimits' stuff so quickly! Smart and sassy they are!

I guess we have been fairly lucky with both of our babies, too. Sophie never chewed anything up. She did some counter surfing on occassion until corrected, she seems to feel so deflated if she thinks she has disappointed you that she seems to be careful to be a good girl. She has always been that way, such a sweetheart. The only mischievious thing she ever did was sneak into the kids rooms late at night, and I do mean the hunkered down "you don't really see me" sneak, to steal little stuffed animals from their rooms to snuggle in her own bed. She never chewed them, just loved them! Ha Ha! She is now 8 and is still an angel.

Diesel is 3 and his only real transgression has been chewing off the tops of seedling trees that my husband planted in pots for around our lake. Yep, he ate the tops off of EVERY one of them. Good thing he is so darn cute! He has counter surfed a couple of times, will cross the field and let himself into my in-laws house any time he chooses to visit Grandma and Grandpa and their doors aren't locked. They can be sitting in the family room watching TV or in the kitchen cooking/eating and in he will walk and make himself at home. :) He doesn't hurt the cats but he sure loves to stalk and try to bend them to his will, his will being lots of snuggling and they don't always agree. He just wants to LURVE them! :)

Gosh, I love these babies.

Lol, Brody has gotten so much better since he has gotten older, but he has eat hair bands, chewed up barbie dolls, army men, chewed my power cord in half to my sub woofer, chewed half way through a wooden dowel that runs across our kitchen chair, he has tried to eat panties, he would constanlty steal house shoes, never destroyed a pair though and he ate a pair of tube socks which made him really sick until he threw them up the day we decided to take him to the vet a week later :/. Silly dog but man we sure do love him.

My boy Brian has a list too. He is crated when I'm gone for long periods of time. He usually does his damage when I take a shower, mow the lawn, fall asleep on the couch or take my eye off of him for more than 10 min. I got him neutered about a month ago and it seems that a lot of this behavior has stopped but it's as if he just gets really bored when I'm not immediately available, despite the bunch of toys he has.

Here is his list:

1. He has chewed 5 seperate holes in the wall
2. He ripped a hole in a window screen and preceded to throw all his toys out the window.
3. He eat a video game case, and threw it up a day later. He took it off a shelf to get it.
4. He ate a 6" tail from one of those non-stuffed animals. He threw that up at 4am 3 days later.
5. Destroyed blinds, curtains, and a curtain rod.
6. Ate a wicker hamper
7. My first christmas tree didnt stand a chance. It's probably my last
8. Hes chewed pens I leave on tables and chews them till they explode on my white couch.
9. My 2010 taxes
10. He chewed a hole in the arm of my couch. He was in his crate and I was gone for no more than 2hrs. He shimmied his crate over about 4" to the couch to get to it.

Hes shewed on a few various other things. Sunglasses, remotes, my wallet, etc... Most of which I was able to stop him before they were destroyed.

Thankfully he doesn't chew on shoes or clothes. He just takes them out of my closet if I forget to close the door. He just likes to move them around. Usually just sits with them on the couch.

He'll be turning 1yr this coming Sunday. We've both been through a lot of changes in the last few months and he's doing much better now, so there is hope!

sorry to laugh, as that list is long

but shimmying the crate over to eat the sofa arm made me choke on my water! Sorry about your list, and happy 1 year! Seamus was suddenly better about the chewing around that time- and we are just shy of 1 year 5 months, and it is only intermittent destruction nowadays. I remember wishing everything in my house was made of metal, so you must have a great sense of humor!
