My Otto is just shy of 5 months old and his Wellness puppy food is about out. Is it to early to switch to Wellness adult or stick with the puppy for a couple more months?

Actually no. If you read the Wellness Super 5 package, it is an all life stages food. That means, it works for puppies as well. I switched Olive at 5 mo. because she did not like the puppy Wellness. I would not do Wellness CORE until at least a year though. :)

Ditto Kayboxer. Even at that, almost all of the premium foods are just fine to switch dogs to the adult version at 6 months, so you would be just fine. I would recommend though to gradually switch from the puppy to adult. Even though they're the same brand, better to be safe than sorry, so I would recommend you switch over a 7-10 day period (approximately) just so no tummy issues arise.

Good luck!

I'll probably just buy a small 5 lb bag of puppy to mix with the adult. I don't think I have enough left to do the switch.

I got a bag of Super 5 and it looks like according to the feeding chart I feed alot less of the adult vs the puppy. With the puppy I was feeding close to 3 1/2 cups a day. The Super 5 looks like maybe 1 1/2 cups a day. Does this sound correct?

Yes it sounds right, their growth slows down as they get older. But just remember it is only a guideline.

I think I feed Olive 2 - 2 1/2 c. a day of the Super 5. Are you going by weight? That may be the difference. Remember, those are only guidelines. You can make adjustments for your pups needs. I wouldn't buy a bag of the puppy if you don't have enough to mix, that's a waste of money. Just mix what little you have or switch cold turkey. I do add Wellness 95% canned meat (not the food, the meat) to her meals, just a tablespoon in the A.M. and 1/4 c. in the P.M., or I add meat I've cooked. Just a suggestion if you want to add more protein. :)
