4 month puppy with diarrhea

Hi Guys,

Im looking for some advise, my 4 month boxer puppy has bad diarrhea at the moment which i think is due to him eating some face cleanser by Avon. His weight is 11.2kg.

When he was on his own he knocked down a bottle of the stuff and although he didnt eat it from the bottle he did get a large patch of it on his fur and then preceded to lick it off which i think made it foam up and he has swallowed it.

I took him to the vets 2 days ago about this and she said that there is nothing wrong with him beside the diarrhea he has no sickness and his abdomen is fine with no discomfort or pain. She has given him some medication to help calm his stomach and his worming is all up to date.

Really i just want to know if this will pass or if this is something more serious, any advice would be really appeciated.

I'm no expert, but I would assume if the vet gave a clean bill of health he should be ok.

Did they do a fecal on your pup? Mine was having the same issue almost, but they did a fecal and found out it was like an infection in the intestine and gave him some medicine and he's all better now(not saying this is what your pup has).

No they didn't do a fecal check, i did phone them before hand and asked if it was a good idea to take some of his poo with me, i know gross, but they said no. They gave me some medication to help his stomach but then said a couple of days later that it might be causing him diarrhea! His poo has got some what better it's still not solid but its not watery anymore. Im starting to think maybe it's his food? i feed him James Wellbeloved, Lamb and Rice which he has been fine with so i really don't know.
