No need to worry

I don't think you should worry. His weight seems very normal. We have two flashy brindles from the same litter. The male was 17lbs at 7 weeks old and at 3 months he was 27lbs. Our female weighed in at 22lbs at the same 3 month check up. He towers over her and is almost as big as the 2 year old male we have. It's like a pregnancy, each one is different.

all pups are different.... my lylah is right at 6 (well on the 18th of june) months and weighs about 41-49 lbs now... when i got her at 6 weeks she was only like 7.5 lbs (she was the runt of the litter too) at 2.5 mnths she was 11 lbs... 3.5 mnths 18 lbs 4.5 mnths she started having major growth spurts and put on a considerable amount and is now probably over that 41 lbs... that she weighed in at 5 months her parents are quite large.. mom is 75 lbs and the daddy 95 lbs... her father was huge.. he could jump and clear a 6-7 foot high fence... sadly he did do this and hung himself before the owners could get to him.. he died trying to protect his pups he was a gentle loveing giant... and will be sadly missed by his owners.. so your pup could get to be huge or average just depends on what god has planned

Our girl tyson is 5 months and she just hit 30 lbs. She was the runt and is small for her age, and small compared to her family. Just off my expierence I would say that your puppy is pretty big for his size. Maybe you could call another vet for a second opinion if you are still wondering.

Help I need Some Advice

I am a 23 yr old guy and I had a boxer for about 6 years and unfortunately I had Lost him on Friday my parents put it to sleep on Friday without telling me because her cancer got very bad that day and she couldnt breath, I mean I knew she was gona die because i Knew she had cancer and she couldnt walk on one foot. But I am so upset that I couldnt even say goodbye. She was like the only person there for me at home, but now that shes not there my house is so depressing and I feel so alone and depressed. I want to get another boxer but unfortunately I live with my oarents and they do not want to get another dog saying that they dont to go trough the same heartache again. But also i am kinda worried about getting another one because i wouldnt want tit to get sick like that again, is this a common thing with boxers or did we get unlcuky. Please give me some advice on what to do.

3mo old pups

Both our pups were on the heavier end of the spectrum at 3mos., but our male is not too big (at almost 2yrs old he's 25.5in and 72lbs) and our female is almost 6mos and shes 20in 42lbs. Boxers grow at various speeds and spurts. Sometimes they look soo leggy and skinny, other times they look filled out. as long as your pup is eating, playing and continuing to put on weight, youre ok.

so sorry

Joe123-

Im sorry for your loss, i can't imagine what you are going through right now. I know when we had to put our cocker down, it was one of the saddest days of my life, saying good by was terrible, both my mom and i were balling. I can understand your parent's fear of having to lose another pet. Perhaps waiting until you are on your own to get another boxer is a better option. Boxers are "tumor factories", and tumors can be cancerous, but getting a puppy from well-bred, properly health tested parents can reduce the risk of future problems. once again, i'm so sorry about your loss. we're here for ya. best of luck to whatever you decide to do.

So sorry Joe123

We lost our first boxer in September of 2002. Barkley died from a brain tumor. It was one of the saddest days. They are a part of your family. Give your parents some time they may change their minds. I will admit there are times when I think "oh it would be so much easier to not have the babies" but then they just look at you and you can't help but feel guilty for thinking that. But with 2 teenage daughters (god help us) we are so busy. Remember all the good times and once again I'm so sorry for your loss and that you never got to say good bye. Just know that your dog is in a better place and in a healthy body. Who knows maybe she and Barkley have hooked up and are having a great time!!!

Take care,
