Indy's mom
Boxer Insane
Ok so clearly Indy is trying to be cat mouser we never had. At 10 weeks he killed his first mouse in the yard (there is a field behind our house). Brought it in and was deeply disappointed when I took it away, deep boxer sigh, but fortunately he did't argue to keep his prize.
A few days ago, my now 6m. old is barking to come in the house. We hv the rule that he has to wait after the door is opened and not walk in until invited. Thank goodness he had to put the critter down to bark! There it was in all it's dead yuckiness on the step, Indy walked in, sat down (another requirement at our house so that I can clean feet, hey this is Wisconsin, snow, mud you get the picture). The whole time he's sitting he is wiggling that silly butt and craning his neck to see the furry goodness left outside.
He looked soooo disappointed when he was given a toy in the house...not the mouse. I can't wait until spring, this may be the year that the rabbits nest somewhere else. Our last boxer, Rascal chased them, but never really tried to kill them!
The funniest part is that although Indy stalks, pounces and kills his toys all the time, he has no hesitancy in giving up toys, rawhides or even his food. I wonder how he's going to feel about grass snakes?.....

.....She catches them, but luckily they have real tough shell like plates for skin,& they get away through the fence.
