Boxer Buddy
Today marks the second anniversary since a tumor claimed my precious girl's chin and jawbone.
The good thing is....She is alive and well!
She has came a long ways since her surgery. She has learned to not let her handicap get in her way of having a good and fulfilling life. She has learned to pick up things in her mouth and she even plays keep away with her stuffed animals by picking them up in her mouth and running from me to get me to play the game with her.
She is the most loving dog I have ever owned....or I should say that has ever owned me!
She always knows just when I could use a hug.
The hardest thing for Dixie...still remains...drinking water. Since her surgery, her tongue hangs from her mouth at all times and it is awkward for her to lap water. Her tongue if you can imagine....instead of lapping up water...it moves backwards when she drinks. Drinking is therefore, a slow process, but she is strong will and likes to do everything for herself.
Dixie has a birthday coming up! She will be 6 years old on Dec. 23rd. If it had not been for an angel of a Veterinary Surgeon, lots of prayers and the grace of God...Dixie wouldn't be here now. It is a major event, for my girl to be here for her 6th Birthday!!
Way to go gril!!! You have overcome so much and you have made the lives of those around you richly blessed!
