2 boxers 1 female (in heat) 1 male horny as hell

Im still trying to fig. out . My male boxer who still has his marbles is like cmon just let me at her just for a sec or a long time depends if i get finished with her quick!

She has been in heat for about 3 weeks today and last thursday my male just quit eating completly, no matter what i give him hes like nah id rather have her, . Is this normal and if so how long till he starts eating again? Im thinking till shes done and thats another question how long till shes safe that i can have him near her and not worry that shes gonna get pregnant, maybe 1 more week of this fasting on part of my horny boxer! (actually we force fed him some eggs and liver cause he's like trying look like a chiwawa and im not having that)


Ok i know some of you are gonna give me the 10 commandments about spaying, nueturing and so on, which is cool & i respect yea point of view but thats not my situ.. right now so please ( actually getting her spayed after this) hook me up with the 411 and not the I told you so cause my mom said and my grandma said and my dad said and im gonna folow everybody off the cliff cause they all did it, ... anyways im joking so be cool dont take serious just give up the info k. laters

i'm not an expert but have you tried keeping them in different parts of your house? or crating one and letting the other out to play and then switching them so that one is always in their crate?

yea they are being seprated but he's not dumb he knows where shes at and can smell her to top it off. They are and have been totaly seperated physcally but not mentally since she began her heat. The problem is not that were worried that he will get to her , we have that taken care of that but its this insane attitude that im new too like oh yea im going on a hunger strike till you give me what i want. im tempted just to make a knot hole in one of the fence boards and let him at it,

This is very common and will continue until she it completely out of season. Generally 21-28 days, although some females take longer. Once he is not showing any interest whatsoever in her (assuming she has had no discharge for several days), wait a week, and then they'll probably be safe. And don't count on needing to make a hole in the fence - dogs will chew through wood to get to bitches in season (and have - check the archives!) :rolleyes:

Yea my daughters who are 4 & 6 are like cracking up every time they see him rear up and try to pick the lock on her nice new and snugy diapers, Im usaully cracking up too. oh thsi one time when a friend of mine who has a female intact brought his dog over well we had to improvise so I put some boxers on my dog well lets just say a boxer woth boxers on and trying to slap the parsley off the bush is so freaking funny! anyways thanks everybody!

Julie, you just reminded me of a funny thing (well, wasn't funny then) that happened to us when we had Hobbes. Our neighbour had a pitbull on heat and Hobbes was just obsessed with getting to the other side of the fence. Well, one day we came home and he wasn't in our backyard. We went outside to see where the hell he went and there was a hole on the fence!! I don't know if he ran through it or if he bit and pulled it until it cracked but not too long after, our neighbours had puppies. We felt really bad.

He is fixed and she is not... My male has been neutered but my female is not yet spayed. She is getting spayed next month. Anyway he is driving me nuts. I thought (or hoped) that since he was fixed this would not bother him.. ugghhh was i way off base. He is still trying to mount her all the time, and whinning to get at her. I have to seperate them not because i am worried about babies but just because he is acting like he is still intact. Is this normal??? Any advice out there??? Can u spay a female while in heat cuz i really cant take anymore of this... HELP!!!

Just because he lacks the equipment to impregnate her doesn't mean the urge is gone. The scent that she emits whilst in cycle is powerful and will continue to affect him since he doesn't smell or register the scent with the parts that were removed. You can't spay her while in cycle, but you should be able to within a couple of weeks of her cycle ending. In the meantime, just keep them seperate, do not allow him to mount her - females have been known to inflict serious injury on males that try to mount.
