I haven't been on this site for so long I'm surprised my login still works!! Our 13 year old girlie JC has lymphoma...bumps around her neck from ear to ear along with other various bumps. She had surgery a year ago to remove several bumps and it was horrible...she looked like a Frankenstein dog...I couldn't believe they had done that to a 12 year old boxer...7 incisions all over most at least 3-4 inches long...she has never fully regained her strength since...but new spots popping up now...no real bathroom problems, is eating good since I added wet food to the mix, twitches a lot while sleeping, heavy breathing often, occasional vomiting, not moving real well but occasionally spunky :) , had a seizure last night that lasted at least 2-3 minutes. She is already on carprofen for any pain for the last six months...I have not really noticed any excessive thirst or urinating...no diarrhea...she does pace a lot and wander a lot in the back yard...I'm afraid she'll have a seizure when no one is home...when is it time to end this worry? And remember...she's 13!!! Any thoughts or experience are appreciated...thanks

There's so many owners who'd have loved to have had 13 years with their boxers. I hope I get the same.

Quality of life is crucial when it comes to our pets. I think you'll know when it's time and what to do. I often feel our selfishness and how we don't want to grieve our lost friend often makes them suffer sometimes longer than they should...

I have had to help only one dog to pass on. For him I could tell the pain was too much. Many have said you can tell by looking into their eyes. You can also talk to your vet and get a better idea of how your pup is doing, especially with the onset of seizures along with wandering and pacing. I am sorry you and your pup are going through this. While 13 years is a long life for a boxer, it is still not enough time with our furbabies.
