11 month old just started lifting his leg...

My friend has a female black lab and it is so funny to watch because she holds her leg up to go. I do believe she thinks she is a male!!!!

My breeder has a female that marks trees/bushes just like male dogs! :eek: though she doesn't quite lift her leg, she has perfected the art of hopping up onto her front 2 legs, and quickly getting "it" out. its quite a sight to see. oh yea, and our male Cassius didn't start lifting his leg til he was 7-8mos or so.. Every so often he will still go w/ all 4 paws on the floor.. but if i see him doing it and say "Cassius, why are u peeing like a girl?" He will look at me, and lift a leg to finish. silly boy!

Aw! That's so nice that he's lifting his leg! I doubt Max will ever do that.
Heck, I'm happy when Max actually stops to pee! He often just keeps on walkin'!

Oskar has only lifted his leg a handful of times. He's a tad over a year and a half. I prefer the squat though so I don't mind.

depends on the day

some days he does some days he doesnt and it's all a mood thing i swear. but the other day charlie did something i was so busy laughing i couldnt get him to the bath to hose him down. so we have oak tree's and the limbs and leaves pretty much dangle down below his ribs. he walks over to them, sprays the holy terror out of a branch and then like he's never noticed what he leaves behind, he starts sniffin it and while it's still dripping dunks his head under the branch to check out the ground, meanwhile getting peed on by the tree in return. some days my charlie is a thinker out thinking me in the ways of getting round the house and rules.......and other days he just makes me laugh so when i think ...hey yall...ya gotta see this!

Dozer is a combo pee'r. Usually a squat first then I get that look like "Hey,I'm a macho dude,so he activates his "reserve tank" and then has to lift his leg Yesterday when I took him out he had this dance thing going on..lift left leg,sprinkle,two steps,lift right leg and sprinkle,left,right,left,right. The view from where I was standing was pretty funny. Cissy just looked at him like " you are such a dork "

Legend will be 4 years old in March and has NEVER hiked his leg. I don't ever want him to...just cuz I love the way he pees now...its not a squat, he actually leans into it...too funny!!!!

Diesel is 5.5 months old and he's not hiking his leg yet, either. He squats like a sissy girl! On the other hand, we have a 12 year old female chihauhau and she hikes her leg like a boy...I guess our animals are totally confused!!!

I was at the Bark Park and a male dog walked by and hiked his leg. I assumed the boy was going to pee.

Nope - he pooped.

First time (and, last) that I ever saw a dog hike his leg to poop.

Now, tell me where he learned that!

Tyson is 18 months old or so and he has never lifted his leg. He does the horse squat and I hope that never changes. I am anxious to see how Boxlee will be when he's older. It will be interesting.
