You guys are the best!! You are the best support I have gotten yet. It is hard to talk to people about the loss if they are not "dog people". I have gotten the comments that "if could have been a person" or when I tell them I am getting him cremated they comment about "how can you spend that kind of money on a dog??" As it is no one understood why I warmed up Domino's food in the microwave a few seconds so he could have a warm meal like us - he was a family member and not just a dog!
I try to remember the good times like when he would run in yard like one of you said - with his tail on fire!! I also remember when his jowls would get caught on his lower teeth and he looked vicious, and I could go on and on but it only makes me cry more! It is easy to beat yourself up remembering the times I scolded him or screamed if he was doing something bad and that makes me cry too. But overall I think he had a good short life - he slept with mommy and daddy on the bed every night too (that I MISS!).
Anyway, thanks again for all the wonderful words of comfort. I am looking for a new puppy now - the one I am debating on is a girl, she is flashy fawn and already has her ears cropped - sooo its totally different from Domino who was white, one patch over an eye, floppy ears and of course,a boy. I could not bear comparing or trying to find a spot that might be like one Domino had, etc.

We are sorry to hear about your boxer, Domino! All you can do from here is move on - weather that be with another dog or without. It's hard to loose SOMEONE so close to your heart. As long as you keep is memory alive than there is no such thing as Death.

Hold on to those dear memories. For now they make you cry. I still remember the cute things Jagger did. I hope I never forget all the ways I love him. And as for a new baby that looks different, that is what I did. My first boxer was a super flashy fawn. I also had a flashy fawn female at the time. I have since added a plain fawn male and a flashy brindle male. Rescue saved my heart!

Once again I have no answers but wanted to let you and your family know my thoughts are with you in this difficult time.
Sometimes angels are only here for a short time and can accomplish mountains of miracles before being called home. Just know Domino will forever be a part of your life and your twins and they will always have a guardian watching from above.

NewBoxerMommy.....my sincerest condolences to you and your family. What a difficult time this must be for you. Domino was an angel sent to you to give you those special memories that you cherish now. Although they may make you cry now, they will also put a smile on your face down the road.
Good luck with your search for another fur-baby. Sounds like you may have one picked out. Of course we can never replace loved ones we have lost, but we can fill that empty space in our hearts with love for another. Domino will always be with you.
