I am so sorry for your loss. Domino will always have a special place in your hearts. Do not feel guility about thinking of getting another dog. It will really help the Kids through this time. Don't let this experiance turn you away from boxers. Remember you had good times with Domino and he loved his family.

They are running naked thru the fields, all slobbering and just being lil ole fun boxers. They are prolly sharing stories on how much they loved their owners and the nice goodies they could steal once in a while!

My heart goes out to you and yours,

My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. Domino will always be very near and dear to you and you know he had a wonderful life with you. You children will learn one of life's toughest lessons young, but will be stronger and wiser for it.

When I lost my first boxer to cancer, there was no quieting the pain. Jilly (my other boxer) and I were just depressed. We added a pup from Florida Boxer Rescue and it changed us both for the better. No, he didn't replace Jagger. I have had many boxers as fosters through here and I know no two souls are the same. But, he filled a very empty place in us both.

When you are ready, another wiggle butt may help focus your positive energy!

Again, I am so sorry for your loss. Loosing a furkid is a horrible, horrible pain.

Completely Boxer Crazy
I would like to offer my sincere sympathy. Domino was such a beautiful puppy. I am sure Domino had a great life, especially having the twins to play with. Once you feel ready, you should definitely get another boxer furbaby. Your children's hearts will mend and it will do you good to get back into the crazy active life of owning a boxer.

Best wishes,
Michelle

I'm sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to you and your family... lossing a pet is very difficult.. i wouldnt rush out right away to get another one.. take some time to sort out and see your childrens feelings.. when Sonia (my cat) died.. my brother and I really wanted another pet, but my mumw asnt sure she wanted to go through with that again.. but after months and months of the pain not going away and the need to love another, we decided to get another kitty since a boxer can not suit our lives because of travel (i'm waiting to be on my own to get a boxer).. but I have heard some children do not want to accept another pet after a loss.. give it time and have a family conversation once you have time to sort out your feelings..We rescues Puma from a shelter almost one year fater sonia passed away.

My puppy Jedi is within a month of your recently deceased pup and I could not ever imagine being in your shoes. My family and I truly wish you only the best in this. Wish I had magic words to fix this.

My heart is broken for you at the loss of your sweet puppy. It is a very personal decision on when to bring a new pup into your family. I lost my boxer Emma suddenly one year ago when she was just 3 1/2 months old. We brought Stella home 2 weeks later, and she has really helped to heal my heart by bringing me so much joy. You will never forget Domino, as I will never forget Emma, but in time the pain will lessen just a bit to where you can at least face the day again. You have my sincere sympathy.

Could this have been caused by cardiomyopathy or because he was a white boxer???? Also, what is most people's experience - should I go out and get a new one to help us move on?? Not to replace him of course - so I would get a completely different one...

Firstly, I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. It's very sad when our fur babies leave us :(

In answer to your first question, it does sound like it could have been heart related, I'm not a vet though, so of course I'm only guessing.

Being a white Boxer wouldn't have made any difference.

As for getting a new Boxer, I say yes. I got my 3rd girl about a year ago. I lost my baby Mollie very unexpectedly and Hannah very certainly helped heal my heart and that of our grieving Boxer boy also. She is not a replacement, we all know that........but in my opinion it does help to get another boxer when you feel you are ready.

Sorry you have had such an awful experience.
