10 years just wasn't enough

We said goodbye to our sweet boy, Brutus, on 22 March, 2016. This was 5 days after his 10th birthday. He was diagnosed with complicated stomach cancer and we had to make the difficult choice to assist him as peacefully and as comfortably as possible. It had seemed like forever since I visited this site, but I used it so much and so often for information on how to appropriately raise my Daisy and my sweet boy Brutus, that I feel it is only appropriate to let you know that he was truly loved, always appreciated, and will be forever missed. Thank you to all of you who treat your boxers with the utmost respect, kindness, and love that we can express. I look forward to greeting him in Valhalla!

My heart goes out to you, I'm fairly new to this community but I do agree that the support system here is second to none. Rest in Peace sweet Brutus. I am very sorry to hear about your loss.

Thank you so much. It has been such a hard adjustment after 10 years of so much fun, love, slobber and smells. I still wake up some mornings hoping he'll be snoring away in his bed...

People that don't truly "know" a boxers love just don't get it. The goofy antics, the slobberloving kisses, wake the dead snoring, and even the boxer flatulence are all endearing qualities when you let a boxer own you for their too-short life span.

I'm very sorry for your loss - there is never enough time with the sweet soul of a boxer. In time I hope the good memories of Brutus replace the emptiness. Godspeed sweet Brutus.

I am so sorry for your loss of Brutus. It's the daily routine and the crazy antics that you miss so much when they leave. It just hurts.

Godspeed dear Brutus.
