Hey all, I have a female fawn, is ten months old and she is very skinny, i've check her fecies and there are no signs of worms, not sure why she cant gain any weight. we also have a 110lb male who is constantly wanting to play so she is a very active dog. i might have to resort to taking her to the vet, she is 10 months old and only weights 30lbs, but is tall. is this normal? she is very happy active dog we are just worried about her... she shows no signs of being sick though! please let me know

maybe you should take her to the vet just to make sure she is ok. there is no way for you to just look at the stools to tell about worms.
boxers do tend to be skinny they grow tall and then grow out. they don't finish growing till around 2 years old. but having a boxer that is 110 lbs wow is he a pure bred?
I would put him on a diet.

i have a 10 mos brindle female - she was at the vet last month (April) she weight in a 58 lbs.; she's an only dog; eats 1 1/2 cups in the am and 2 cups pm - activity would be i'd saw a 7 - we don't have a fenced yard but she gets walked at our near-by field on a 12' lead. With no distractions in the early am i can let the leash drag - stepping on it every so often to give her the feel that i have the end. She fetches we run. Hopefully your pup will start gaining.

Yeah, I would suggest the vet. too. You actually can't see worms in the feces unless a dewormer is given and there is a large amount of worms. Also, there could be an underlying problem that the symptoms aren't noticeable, however, a few simple diagnostic tests could figure out whats going on. My Violet is almost 4 months and is 20 lbs if that gives you an idea...however, there are petite boxers...I would have it checked out anyways

Well, my pup is 5 mo old and weighs 30lb. I think he looks skinny, so I can't imagine how yours would look (not saying she looks horrible because I haven't seen her, just can't imagine it). What do you feed her and how much? I would definately take her to the vet and have her checked out.

I would take her to the vet if it makes you feel more comfortable, but I wouldn't worry about it too much if there are no other signs of anything. Some boxers are just small.
I have a female who will turn 4 years old at the end of June and she only weighs 38lbs. We were worried about her for awhile, but it just turns out that she is just small. At 1 year old, our male outweighs her by 20lbs!!!

I wouldn't worry too much. Our Chevy is about 1.5 years old now and weighs about 60 lbs. When he was younger he looked skinny and I was a bit worried but our vet assured us he was fine. He is on the skinny side of normal. Our breeder also said that boxers will fill out around the age of two. We have two boxers and on our walks Chevy runs probably 3 times more than Louie, he just has so much energy. Alot of boxers I've seen lately are actually a bit overweight so I would suggest stop by the vet's office to get their opinion. Or even try calling your breeder and they may be able to tell you how big her litter mates are.

yes jake is 110lbs and is not fat, he is just plain huge, the vet said he was the biggest purebread boxer he has ever seen but hes a little teddy bear, scared of everything. I snapped some pics of them, i'll post them tonight when i get home! thanks for all your help!
