Boxer Insane
I lost my best friend of 11 years. My wife woke me up to tell me something was wrong with Blaze. I went in the back yard and he could not get up. My wife wanted to take him to the emergency room but I knew he had a major stroke. I laid down next to him on the kitchen floor and held him and cried for 5 hours. We took him to the vet when it opened and he died 5 minutes later. Me and my wife talk about him at least once everyday since he passed. His is still on my screen savor and is my aviator on Facebook. He was a huge American Collie that loved everyone and everything. He would talk to every dog on our walks and stop to let every kid pet him while he gave them unlimited kisses. The kids always called him the big furry dog and loved hugging him. I told my wife it would be a long time before we got another dog and that we would just have our Lab. About 5 months later I had a friend call me about a 3 month old Husky that the owner had bought but after 1 MONTH his wife decided she did not want it anymore. We thought he was adorable but it was not the right dog. We made sure it found a forever home. This did help to bring up the conversation of another dog. Our Lab was very laid back so we wanted another breed like Blaze. He was smart but only when it suited him. He got into trouble around the house all the time but would just smile and give you kisses when he was scolded. He never did grow out of his puppy stage and would play for hours. He was the friend to every dog at the dog park but ALWAYS made sure he knew where his Labby brother was. We had 2 squirrels that loved to come down and play in our back yard with him and inside our house him and our Chinchilla would play in my sons room. Even the animals knew he would never hurt anything. All that mattered to him was being with his family. If he was a human he would of won parent of the year. I wanted a dog with a personality like Blaze so I did some research. Even though the health issues concerned me I wanted a Boxer and wanted to make sure one that needed rescue. I accidentally found one from a rescue about 350 miles from our house. We made the trip in 1 day and that was a little over 6 months ago. I think Blaze would of loved Daisy but I also think we would of never slept. My wife tells me Blaze sent Daisy to us. I knew I could not type this without crying but wanted Blaze to know we think of him everyday and that I miss him very much. This is 2 of my favorite pictures of Blaze.
