Bailey is still very small (for a 3month old) and people often mistake her for a Pit. I understand this b/c her nose appears long (b/c her HEAD hasn't grown into it ) and she is a brindle color (very Pit-ish)

Today my son and I went for lunch (@McD's) and had Bai in the car. The first window (take you money lady) said 'awww, is it a Pit?' and I polietly corrected her 'no, she is a boxer' Then drove up and the second window lady almost instantly said 'what a beautiful boxer' this was the first person to guess her breed right!

Yep, I smiled! :) She not growing much, but she is so pretty and will slowly but surely start looking like the beautiful boxer she is....

Ahh, a true dog person always shines through!

Enjoy the recognition, revel in your identity, because alas, there will still be other uneducated "dog experts" out there who will swear she is a pitt :)

At least that is the impression I get from all the other mistaken identity experiences recounted on BW!

The only time I ever had someone get it right was when there was a bunch of us (like 4) gathered around talking at the Petsmart. I guess because that many Pitbulls can't be trusted to be around each other without fighting! That was a joke by the way! It feels good when they get it right though! :)

It kinda bother's me when people think that Rocky is a pit too. I've only had that happen a few times though. But it is nice when people do recognize and appreciate the boxer.

My Abby is always confused with a Pit and even after I tell people that she's a boxer they always say, "really?" as if I'm lying! Very frustrating by I know that she's a boxer and that's all that matters!

Keep your head up and keep correcting!

I just looked at your gallery and Bailey is ADORABLE! I can't decide which picture I love more--the one with her daddy or the one with her big brother!!

I have gotten the pit question too--I laugh and tell people she is a boxer. I have even gotten the "is she a boxer/pitt mix?" question! I have a lot of patience with this though--I was once really ignorant about the breed! I didn't know the difference before I met my BF and got Ginny!

Bailey is cute. My boxer never grew into her nose. I think this makes her cuter though.

My last boxer was white. I was always impressed when someone actually guessed that she was a boxer....it was rare.

Doesn't that irritate you? "No, you're right. She is a pit, I just wanted to lie to see if I could get away with it, and I got caught. Sorry about that."

While I was reading this thred, I got a notification that I had a new message on *******. So I checked it. My profile pic is of Matilda and I... the message reads:

(By the way, I have no clue who this person is.)

Subject: Hey nice dogg
Message: Does he bite?

I wrote back "No, she doesn't, and before you ask, shes a Boxer, not a Pitbull."

He replied with "Oh, nevermind."

LOL!
