    Puppy eating weeds, gravel, bugs...

My 5 month old pup is exactly the same and has been since we had him at 9 wks- grass, snails, slugs, stones, twigs and literally ANYTHING he can find in the garden. I'm hoping he'll grow out of it!

Brain Tumor? 9YR F/Boxer having seizures

I do hope you got some answers from your vet. It's awful seeing your pet going through this. My Max had seizures with pacing only afterwards, falling into things, a bobbing head and not himself at all. The vets initially thought epilepsy but a scan confirmed a brain tumour. He didn't have the...

    Puppy barking at dogs

Thanks. He is quite good at waiting for things (eg food, toys etc) for a puppy but excitement just takes over with dogs. Hopefully he will learn to calm down a little with them.

    Puppy barking at dogs

My 19 week old pup is terrible when we stop and meet other dogs when out walking. All he does is constantly bark.......very loudly and tries to jump on them in the usual boxer manner, paws first! He has always stopped to meet other dogs. Do you think it's normal and he will grow out of the barking?

Trashing puppy pad and eating poo in crate

Thanks Annasmom. For the third night running now we haven't had any 'incidents' and he hasn't had to go in the crate during the daytime this week. I think we seem to have cracked the night time so hopefully that is the end of it but I will look into his food if we have any more incidents.

Trashing puppy pad and eating poo in crate

Well the last 2 nights have been a lot better. He loves to sleep on a bean bag (well it's a slab rather than a bag) during the day and I know it's probably a bit strange but we put that in the crate. The bean slab is bigger than the sleeping space needed but I don't think he would be able to poo...

Trashing puppy pad and eating poo in crate

We don't usually go in the room that his crate is in during the day time so not usually a problem but will definitely be keeping the door closed now just in case!!

Trashing puppy pad and eating poo in crate

Thanks Jinnytee. We took the pad out yesterday and during the day yesterday he just walked in there (which he never does) and wee'd on his bed! During the night he did too, but my fault I hadn't found anything to take up the extra space, was going to sort that out today. I'm wondering whether to...

Trashing puppy pad and eating poo in crate

Thanks. He has his last food at about 5pm. The crate has no divider so it's just pad one end and bed the other. Would it still work if the whole crate was his bed or would he still try using the one end for toileting?

Trashing puppy pad and eating poo in crate

My 17 wk old male is crated at night as he was with his breeder. He is fine going in the crate at night and usually doesn't cry or only a little whimper when first goes in (stops within a minute). Up until a few weeks ago he could go from 10pm until around 5am before needing to wee. He would...

    Greeting people when out walking

Hi all. Just after a bit of advice. Whenever we go out walking people rush over to see my 16 wk old pup. They all make a fuss and he jumps up and loves the attention. This is fine now he's little but I don't want him doing it when he's bigger. I try to get him to sit but people don't give him...

    Growling/circling off leash

Our boxer Max, that we lost in February used to do this in a big open field too. If we took a ball to throw for him he wouldn't do it though, he would channel his energy into chasing the ball instead. Don't know why they do it so will look forward to reading any replies so we can avoid it with...

    Hi from Wales, UK

Hi everyone. My name is Kelly and I have a 14 wk old male pup called Bruce. He is our second Boxer and is certainly keeping us busy! I'm sure I will be regularly looking for advice. We lost our last boxer in February and he was 7 and a half so it's been a while since we had a pup to look after!
