    Nervous Mom...

Well I dropped off Tyson this morning to be neutured. I explained to the vet that he has trouble being in a crate (he broke his bars in his and no longer goes into a crate), so if he starts to act up while there to just call me and I would come pick him up. I called in a little while ago and...

    Eyes Swollen Shut :(

Well Tyson is much better today! When I went to the vet, they gave him a shot of benadryl. It worked somewhat. I gave him bendaryl every 4-6 hours and it made some of the swelling go away. He loves to play w/ insects so I am assuming he got bit or stung by something. Thank you for all of...

    Eyes Swollen Shut :(

11:30 Friday night my boxer was itching his eye like crazy. By 5:00 a.m. Saturday morning I was rushing him to the doggy hospital. He had welts all over his body, his eyes were pretty much swollen shut, and his mouth was swollen. They gave him a shot of benedryl and sent him on his way...

I know I needed new carpet, but....

My wonderful babyboy has decided to bring on a new habit. He is digging up the rug by the bedroom door. He has ripped up all of the padding underneath the carpet in the hallway and will not stop ripping it up. He has been shown what he has done and been told no. He has been put outside for...

    Questions about Neuter

When my lab was neutured, he was suppose to stay overnight. However, he also, has not been in his crate for a very long time (since 6 months, at the time of neuturing was 2). He was hurting himself so bad in the crate before everyone left the vets office, that they asked us to come and get...

Why would Gunther be shaking his head

The only thing that I can think of is that he has an ear infection. You may not be able to see or smell anything if he has an ear infection, but that would explain the shaking of his head.

    Neutering

Thank you for all the helpful responses. I am going to get him neutured some time in August so that I can be home w/ him to make sure he doesn't get at the stitches. Thank you all once again!

    Neutering

No, I'm not having training issues at all. He's very smart! But I've heard from many different people that it helps calm a dog down. Thank you for your input though!

    Neutering

Does Neutering a boxer really calm them down and help them to mature better? Everyone is telling me to hurry up and get my dog neutered so that he will calm down.

    Wanting to Play w/ EVERYONE!!

Thank you. I actually walked Tyson last night and I carried a bag of treats w/ me. It worked SO well. When he saw people or other dogs, I shook the bag of treats and it took his attention away from the dog/people. Then, when we successfully passed the distraction, I asked him to sit and gave...

    Separation Anxiety

My 8 month old boxer has separation anxiety. When I would leave the house, I would always crate him b/c I thought he was too young to be left alone in the house. He would ALWAYS poop in his crate and I started finding marks in between his paws that would be bleeding. Then one day I came home...

    Hot Dogs for Training

While reading through a lot of Boxer World, I have noticed that a lot of people used cut up hot dogs as treats to train their dog. That won't make them sick?

    Wanting to Play w/ EVERYONE!!

Can anyone tell me what a Gentle Leader is?

    Wanting to Play w/ EVERYONE!!

Him standing on his back legs is the worst! Other people think that he is going to attack their dog. Meanwhile I'm thinking in my head, he won't even go near a bird, he'll just bark at it from afar, ha!

    Off the Leash...

I have an 8 month old boxer and I would like to bring him to a park and let him off the leash. However, all of the parks that are near me, are not fenced in. The road is pretty far off, however, I'm afraid that if I let him off the leash, he will run. I would NEVER be able to catch him! I...
